Hi, I’m Okthalia.

I was born and raised in Balikpapan, Indonesia. I’ve worked in Indonesia, Singapore, the U.S., and remotely with teams across time zones. My background is in product strategy, with a focus on AI, fintech, and social impact.

I’ve worked closely with founders and executive teams at VC-backed startups, often in hybrid roles that span discovery, user research, product ops, and go-to-market. My experience includes building AI tools, launching fintech products, and advising early-stage companies navigating uncertainty.

In 2025, as a side project, I built bismillah.ai, an emotional AI designed for Muslims — rooted in faith, empathy, and daily usefulness. It’s my way of showing that technology can be culturally intelligent and emotionally supportive, not just transactional.

Before that, I led product and partnerships at AIFORESEE, an AI-powered fintech company in Indonesia. I’ve also done product research for a political tech platform in the U.S., and spent the last six years studying startup ecosystems in Southeast Asia, the U.S., and the Middle East.

I recently completed my MBA in Social Impact from Boston University. Right now, I split my time between product consulting, research, and building tech that’s human-first and globally relevant.
